Power Pod

A fuel cell generates electricity through a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, producing power with only water and heat as byproducts—unlike diesel generators, which emit pollutants. Instead of burning fuel, it converts chemical energy directly into electricity, making it cleaner, quieter, and more efficient than traditional power sources. With no moving parts, fuel cells are also highly reliable and low-maintenance.

Despite these advantages, fuel cells have seen limited adoption due to their reliance on hydrogen, which lacks production, storage, and distribution infrastructure. Additionally, hydrogen is not readily available, and transporting it presents technical and regulatory challenges.

HYENA’s POWER POD solves this by producing hydrogen on-site from widely available fuels like LPG, propane, natural gas, or biomethane, eliminating the need for dedicated hydrogen infrastructure. This makes fuel cells a practical, scalable, and clean alternative to diesel generators, providing dependable power in both urban and remote locations.

Even though LPG contains carbon, LPG can also be produced as a green fuel. We call this “GREEN GAS” and it is produced from captured CO2 and renewable hydrogen, also known as power-to-X. GREEN GAS can be directly blended into the existing LPG infrastructure, eventually making the POWER POD carbon neutral.

ln-field servicing is one of the main advantages of HYENA’s POWER POD – made possible by the modular design of active components such that maintenance is as simple as replacing cartridges in your printer. These cartridges consist of recyclable and reusable components. Moreover, service intervals will be extended several-fold, greatly reducing the maintenance burden versus diesel generators. The POWER POD is silent, generates no vibration or unhealthy particulates and does not require frequent maintenance intervals.
